In 2024, Midstream's Matric class achieved 77 distinctions in Mathematics alone—an exceptional result that reflects the school’s commitment to academic excellence and dedicated teaching.

State-of-the-art facilities—such as an indoor swimming pool, high-performance gym, squash courts and a dedicated hockey astro turf—ensure athletes can train and compete at the highest level.

Many learners go on to represent their province or country, while others enjoy the camaraderie and healthy competition of inter-school leagues.

Cultural life at Midstream is vibrant and inclusive, with numerous opportunities for learners to express themselves, develop public confidence, and refine their talents.Offerings include drama, music, orchestra, Melodia (choir), art, debating, orators,

Redenaars, revue, and the (P)Articipate programme. Productions are held in the school’s purpose-built auditorium and are known for their high production value and enthusiastic participation.

Adventure, Exploration, and Global Experience

For learners with a love of the outdoors or an appetite for exploration, the Midstream Adventure Club is a highlight. Activities include kloofing in the Magaliesberg, summiting Mont-aux-Sources, white water rafting on the Orange River, scuba diving at Sodwana Bay, and participating in the Polar Bear Challenge.

One of the most formative experiences offered is the Grade 10 Odyssey—a nine-day leadership and resilience challenge that tests and transforms learners in equal measure.

The school also runs annual educational tours abroad and a Belgian exchange programme, broadening perspectives and encouraging a global mindset from a young age.
